About Us

The U.S. Embassy in Estonia is pleased to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Estonia in 2022. As the United States and Estonia said in a February 2022 joint statement, we are proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to the next 100 years of close partnership.

The United States of America and the Republic of Estonia officially established diplomatic relations on July 28, 1922. Since that time, the U.S. and Estonia have maintained continuous official relations, even throughout the Soviet Union’s illegal occupation of Estonia.

Today, the United States and Estonia are strong partners and committed NATO Allies. Our two countries work together to enhance Transatlantic security, promote democratic ideals, and encourage economic development through entrepreneurship and innovation. In international fora, the United States and Estonia promote collaboration to address global and regional challenges. As we mark 100 years of diplomatic relations in 2022, the U.S.-Estonia relationship is a committed partnership that benefits both countries.
